Two weeks ago my mom met my sister and me for lunch in NYC and carried with her 25 bagged lunches to hand out to homeless people in Port Authority. She pulled her back from carrying all of them but ended up not having enough.
There are never enough lunches. she tells me. I always make one more than the last time, but each time someone is left without a lunch. It's heartbreaking.
I said, well you were able to help some.
